(Otherwise titled, "The Longest Post EVER." :)
June has been busy. Real busy. Here is a little of what we've been up to...
The next week we loaded up the car for the 12ish hour trip
to Missouri for a family reunion.
The trip was way too short~ we had so much fun with my family...talking, laughing, playing games, fishing, a little swimming. It was great....and also bittersweet, as it was the first year for us to go without both grandparents being there with us. Thankful we did it....I'm assuming the first year would be the hardest. And honestly...there were several times when it felt like they were there with us. So many memories made there as a family~ it will always be a special place.
He fixed bikes all day long. Fun watching him figure out how things work...it's like you can actually see the wheels turning in that little head of his. :)
Whatever you want to call it. ;) It was really fun!
After our family reunion we headed back to Texas for a couple weeks to hang out with family and spend some time with friends. Got to have lunch with my friend Tomi and two of her sweet kiddos....first time we got to meet Maverick, and it was love at first sight! So happy we got to love on him and his yummy big sister too. :)
Hud and his Aunt Reagan....love how close they are to each other.
I wish I had taken so many more pics than I did....guess I was too busy enjoying our time there...dropped the ball big time. We were so thankful for all that time to be with our family and friends. My parents took the big boys to San Diego during the time we were there (they went to Legoland, the beach, and the San Diego Zoo~ will blog about that soon), and Hunter and I got to spend extra time with Reagan, Jon, Beth and Todd. We went swimming with Nana, Aunt Stacey, Uncle Mike, and Jack and Erik. I had dinner with some of my favorite people. It was a great, GREAT trip.
We came back home last weekend, and celebrated Hud's 6th birthday.
He opened his presents, which included an alien night light and a Toy Story Lego set, and then opened a...hamster ball. Wish I had gotten a good pic of his confused face. Then we sent him up to his room, where he found a (empty) hamster cage. We asked him what was missing, and he flashed his sweet smile and told us it needed a hamster. So off we went to the pet store for Hud to pick out his new friend. I think we got a good hamster.
they are just 3 days apart.
It was fun getting to celebrate both of their birthdays together!

How in the world is this baby SIX? Seriously? Time needs to SLOW DOWN.
Thankful to celebrate another year with our middle man.
He's growing up, reading like a champ, is a Lego wizard, and can hit a baseball like no other 6-yr-old I know. :)
He's sweet, gentle, funny, snuggly, mixed with just a little stubborn. ;)
Yes, a hamster. This "not-an-animal-person" mom is now sharing a house with a dog AND a hamster. The things we do for our kids. ;)
Welcome to the family, Snowball. We hope you like it here. :)
Whew....if you're still with me after all of that, then you must really love me. Thanks. ;)
Won't be so long next time, I promise.
