Those of you who are faithful blog readers know that we love to put together these gingerbread houses. Target sells them at Halloween and Easter, and we think they're pretty fantastic!
We were a little disappointed in the spooky house this year b/c some of the pieces were left out...but we made the best of it and had fun anyway! Can you tell Hunter was doing a little taste-testing with a black gumdrop? :)
This was his first year to really help, and he loved it! yay!
That leftover candy is just too hard to resist....

A fall day in our neck of the woods, rainy but not raining, cool temps, and cabin fever = some much needed playtime outside.
So that's exactly what we did. Wasn't planning on taking any pics of the boys with pumpkins today, and still need to plant some pots of mums, but oh well. We will definitely be re-doing that one. :) Caught the tiny man at the end of the word "leaf." Made me smile.
He had more fun playing peek a boo with me than actually riding the scooter, but did pretty well scooting up and down the side walk and driveway too. I'm still working on that whole "don't panic and hover" thing as a mom...really thought I would have it down by the time this one was able to ride a scooter,
but I guess I need tokeep working on it. ;)
Pretty sure he's thinking, "Geez, Mom...do you have to take a picture of everything?"
And the answer would be...umm, yes.
Including photos of my middle man...
...with his newest "pets."
This baby most certainly loves all of God's creatures,
from the big and furry to the creepy crawly.
And I had to include this one, because it was just too cute
to pass on. Happy October!
Because, in my opinion...
...there really isn't anything much cuter...
...than a boy in uniform.
And in this case, a boy in a baseball uniform.

Sometimes I don't realize how grown up he's getting until I'm going through photos of him.
Today is one of those days.
I know he's mine and all,
but I think he's pretty beautiful.
And since he really doesn't look much like me at all,
Today was 50's Day at the boys' school...just a fun Spirit Day. They got to dress in 50's gear, chew gum (cool, huh?) and have a hot dog and root beer float lunch outside. I had fun getting to grease their hair back...
...and wisely decided against rolling packs of cigarettes in their shirt sleeves. ;)
And because Hunter was a little jealous of the attention his brothers were getting, and because he never passes up the opportunity for a photo, I took this one. :)
Here is Hud with his teacher...have I mentioned that we are big fans of her? Well, we are. :)
Here is Harrison at the lunch. I'm so thankful I get to be a stay-at-home (mostly) mom who gets to be a part of all of this stuff. Fun, fun! :)

AND because my posts lately have been more heavily-themed around my tiniest H....
...here is my middle man with his Elmo Gun (I'm choosing to chalk this creation up to the fact that he is all boy, and NOT let the gun part get to me)...
...and my oldest H with his first piece of art that came home from school so far this year.
Do you know how much my heart swells when they get creative, and are so excited to show me what they've made, b/c they know I totally get how awesome it feels?

My B
Brian, is my darling, scary-smart, outdoorsy, extremely patient, sometimes serious, always forgiving, incredibly good-looking husband. We met on my first day of college, and he is truly my first love.
H1
The oldest of my three H's...the fiercely independent 10th grader who loves playing baseball and memorizing any and all sports facts is constantly eating, super smart, always talking, and incredibly thoughtful. He takes his role as the biggest brother very seriously, and his little brothers both think he is pretty fantastic. We all do.
H2
The middle H...the sweetest 7th grader who loves being a stud left tackle on the football field and is a master video gamer, is our amazingly intuitive, techno-savvy, constantly caring, seriously stubborn, super funny, dimpled-cheeked second born.
H3
Our youngest H...this one is obsessed with playing guitar, Nerf, hunting, Minecraft, and all things camo, is a happy-go-lucky, super sweet, incredibly mischievous, major cuddling 4th grader. He rocks his role as the baby of the family, and is proof that God's ways are always better than ours.
Henry the Wonder Dog
The 6th member of the Hatcher family, this guy is loved by all. He's the dog that made me a dog person, and I'm crazy about the gentle beast he is. His favorites include cheezits, chicken biscuits, bones, his stuffed duck named Marvin, and anything that we are eating.
