Botanic Gardens

I took Hudson and Hunter to the Botanic Gardens while we were waiting for Harrison to finish his last art class on Monday. It was such a beautiful day, and the flowers were amazing! We all had a great time~ the boys just ran and ran as I tried to catch a few good pictures of them~ notice how most of the pictures are of the back of them. :)

The Hatcher Boys Can Fish

Today Brian took Harrison and Hudson to a "Hooked For Life" fishing event that our church sponsored. This was the first year that Hud got to go. I had a feeling that he would love fishing, and he did. That is something that definitely runs in the family (not from me) but Brian, my Dandy, Momo, Aunt Becky, Mikey, Uncle Mike...there is a big list of avid fisherpeople in my family. And now this generation is apparently not going to let the family down. :)

We are proud to announce that Hudson was the winner in the "Most Fish Caught" category, and Harrison won for "Biggest Fish Caught." So very exciting!

And exciting the day was. Not only did our boys win a couple of trophies, but Hudson took a nosedive into the pond while trying to feed the ducks. Thankfully, he's a pretty decent swimmer, and a HUGE thank you to Stacey Moore for jumping in to pull him out. I'm so glad I wasn't there to witness that~ I'm sure it would have taken at least 10 years off my life.

For the love of the game

I finally was able to snap some pictures at Harrison's game the other night...

More Zoo Fun...

Last Friday was Harrison's first grade field trip to the zoo. All five of us went, which was greatness. It was a beautiful day, REALLY CROWDED though. Brian is not at all a fan of big crowds, but he was a trooper, and overall, it was a great day.

Some highlights:
*Seeing Harrison hanging out with his friends~ he really is growing up.
*Watching Hudson feed the birds in the "Birds of Paradise" exhibit~ it was so cool! You get these sticks covered in honey and sesame seeds, and then watch as the birds come right up to you and eat off your stick. Hudson climbed trees (I'm surprised we weren't asked to leave) to get to some of the birds, and in true Hudson fashion, showed no fear.
*Hunter's excitment over the flamingos~ what is it with us and those flamingos? We all love to watch them. He is especially a fan.
* The five of us getting to spend a whole day together~ something that is getting harder and harder (already) to come by.

A couple lowlights:
*When I say Harrison is growing up, I'm not kidding. This was the first time that he way preferred being with his friends over hanging out with us. I kind of felt like the rest of us were a bunch of fifth wheels. I felt really torn between wanting him to want to hang out with us, and trying to accept that his friends are becoming more important, and just letting him have fun with them. Yuck.
*It really was so stinkin' crowded, making for a more stressful day. Not to complain, but you know how you get a picture of how a day will be all set in your head, and then the reality is nothing like it? That's kind of how it was.

But, all in all, fun memories where made, and it was a beautiful day to be outside. Fun was had by all...

Bathroom Art

Spring Fever has hit me hard this year. We (and when I say we, I mean Brian) have been painting, working in the yard (I have helped with that)and redecorating the house. Brian painted the boys' bathroom this fun cobalt blue color (apparently we have have been black and browned to death and are ready for some color in this house) and I made these canvases to go in there. Hudson thinks the frogs are so funny~ he points to each one and says, "There's baby Hunter, Hudson, and Bubba. Bubba's eatin' a bug!" Harrison doesn't think it's so funny, but we do. :) Let me know what you think!

Meet Chuck the Chicken

Who's actually a rooster...but it's way more fun to say "Chuck the Chicken" than it is to say "Rob the Rooster." :) Anyway...I found him in Canton this past weekend, and love him so much that I had to blog about him. I went with Tomi to do some shopping (I think the last time I went was when I was pregnant with Harrison~ way too long)and we had so much fun. It was great getting to spend the day with my sweet friend~ we don't do that nearly enough, and getting to spend time with her family was greatness too. All of us Hatcher's are big fans of Garrett (he's a great kid), and I was glad to have a day to get to know Randy better. We haven't gotten to spend a whole lot of time together~ He's pretty stinkin' funny, very thoughtful, and perfect for Tomi. Which is so great to see~ she deserves someone wonderful.

So anyway (I'm seriously ADD on this post) back to Chuck. He's a big metal guy that stands up and is so much fun. Brian had been working really hard to get our kitchen painted before Bunco last night (speaking of wonderful husbands, I'm pretty sure mine is at the top of the list) and when I saw this rooster I knew he would be perfect in there. And he is! Check him out!

Harrison the Home Run Hitter

All I can say is that the Astros rock~ Harrison is playing on a great baseball team this season. He is playing some awesome baseball, and they are all so much fun to watch. So far they are undefeated, and loving every minute of it.

Tonight my baby hit his first home run of the season~ and I missed it. It was a late game tonight, and Hudson had fallen asleep early (he had been sent to time out for not obeying, and fell asleep~ clearly he was very tired!) so I had to stay home. My sweet Mom offered to come over so I could go, but I sent her on because she's about to go to Missouri to visit Momo, so I wanted her to get to watch him tonight. And apparently I missed one amazing game...Way to go Harrison!!!
